Dear Friends-

Discovering and nurturing the next generation of outstanding young wine writers has been one of my longstanding personal goals for Vinous. As part of our mission, Vinous has established the Young Wine Writers Fellowship. Each year the editorial team at Vinous will select an individual who demonstrates exceptional talent, passion and work ethic. The winner will be awarded a Fellowship, receive personal coaching from me and other members of the Vinous team, and have the opportunity to be published on Vinous. Unlike other similar awards, the Vinous Young Wine Writers Fellowship operates completely independently of the wine trade. Full submission guidelines for the 2015 program can be found here.

César Rivière Awarded Vinous Young Wine Writers Fellowship for 2014

Inspired by the many aspiring writers we have met over the last year and half, I am thrilled to announce Vinous has made a grant for 2014 to César Rivière. Originally from Avignon, France, César developed an interest in wine at an early age as he accompanied his father on numerous wine buying trips. In 2013, César founded Notines, a blog dedicated to the wines of the southern Rhône Valley, and later was co-founder of Sorbonne Gourmet, a food and wine club at the Sorbonne University in Paris where he is currently a student. I have followed César’s career for the last few years and am deeply impressed by his intellectual curiosity, energy and passion.

We will begin publishing César’s contributions to Vinous in the next few weeks.

Cheers,

Antonio
